As always, the flow of traffic will be adversely affected during this year’s Guangzhou Marathon. The great race is scheduled to take place from 7.45am to 1.45pm on Sunday, December 9, starting from Tianhe Sports Center

This year, there will be a total of 30,000 runners partaking in the event's full and half marathons, while thousands of volunteers will help ensure the race runs smoothly (unlike the Suzhou Taihu Marathon).

Sections of the following streets will be closed at different times of the day on Sunday:

  • Tianhe Nan Lu

  • Tianhe Lu

  • Tiyu Dong Lu

  • Xiancun Lu

  • Linjiang Dadao

  • Liede Dadao

  • Liede Bridge

  • Yuejiang Lu

  • Binjiang Dong Lu

  • Bingjiang Lu

  • Yiyuan Lu

  • Yizhou Lu

  • Hongde Lu

  • Renmin Bridge

  • Yanjiang Lu

  • Datong Lu

  • Tanyue Jie

  • Qingbo Lu

  • Linjiang Dadao

Please keep these street closures in mind for whatever wonderful plans you have on Sunday. Depending on where you are from, you'll be happy (or sad) to know a cold front coming to Guangzhou this weekend will make this year's marathon extra chilly!
