Guangzhou's Nicolas Khan on Extravagant Dancing and Club Food

Kitchen Confidential takes a peek behind the curtain at our favorite bars and restaurants and the misadventures that people (like you) get up to when given too much free reign.

The life of any party worth being at, Nicolas Khan has worked for years helping to promote parties and nightclubs from Party Pier to Taojin and everywhere in between. This month, he shares his thoughts…

On over-the-top drink orders...
Forty-eight shots of Jägermeister for a table of two is the most outrageous drink order I’ve seen; I love shots but that’s one I don’t play with.

On pick up fails...
The worst I see – and often – is guys dancing really extravagant while getting close to a girl they have their eye on, going up and down, then trying to grab her hand to lure her to dance. Never works, but it’s great to look at. It reminds me of a peacock’s mating dance.

Club food isn’t that bad...
Any food is awesome at 4am when you are trying to survive for an hour.
