Of Tchaikovsky’s three classic ballets, The Sleeping Beauty, in contrast with Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, stands out in its presentation, with a grand setting, spectacular scenes and demanding dance moves. This week at the Guangzhou Opera House, the highly-acclaimed, century-old Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre will present their rendition of this all-time ballet classic.

Sponsored by That’s PRD, the pub crawl will take Canton’s beer lovers to four local craft beer bars to sample the best of the city’s local brews. Starting at 2pm on Saturday, October 27 at Bravo, in Zhujiang New Town, the boozy tour includes stops at Boilingice, Bon Bidon Bière and Taste, finishing back at Bravo at 6pm. Sat, Oct 27: Vienna Boys’ Choir

With a history spanning five centuries, the celebrated Vienna Boys’ Choir are, without a doubt, one of the world’s best acts and share a reputation comparable to that of the Vienna Philharmonic. World-class composers and conductors such as Mozart, Haydn, Schubert and Bruckner were once members of the choir, which is divided into four touring groups named after these four musical masters. Though based in Austria, the choir is comprised of talented young vocalists from all over the world. Catch their performance at Xinghai Concert Hall this week.

Hailing from Italy, the classical musicians actively explore the range of their instruments by tackling extended compositions, adding their own unique twist to time-honored arrangements. Having dedicated themselves to music from a young age, the threesome has studied intensely at musical institutions devoted to theory and skill refinement.
