Idea Exchange is back this week to teach you how to make a good impression of yourself, as it's a critical skill for any social occasion or business. Yuna Chen, who obtained an ‘etiquette training certificate’ in London while studying for her master's degree, is the founder of Lagent, an etiquette training company providing guidance across China.

The musical that defined a generation by exploring the lives of a group of young artists in New York's East Village, Rent comes to Guangzhou for the first time as part of its 20th Anniversary Tour. The show is groundbreaking for its celebration of diversity, its powerful themes of empathy and friendship and its captivating lyrics and score.

Thu, Sept 27: Nachtblut

German dark metal band Nachtblut is visiting Guangzhou as the last stop on their China tour. Nachtblut became well-known in Europe courtesy of their 2009, self-produced album Antik, the rhythmic songs of which are set to rock the stage of Mao Livehouse this week.

Sat, Sept 29: Noisemaker

Defining their music as loud rock, the Hokkaido-based Noisemaker fuse punk, hip hop, R&B, garage and neo-metal into their music, as demonstrated in their second album Double Color Sheet. This weekend, catch their live show at Mao Livehouse.

Sun, Sept 30: Tordre

This contemporary dance performance by French choreographer Richid Ouramdane is a haunting duet, in which two female dancers perform intensely physical solos, painting their captivating self-portraits with hypnotic, repetitive gestures and finding their identities in the process. The performance opens mischievously with upbeat music before carrying on with an intimate and more fragile story.
