With Baiyun International Airport Terminal 2 set to open tomorrow, Guangzhou Metro Corporation (GMC) has stated that Line 3’s Airport North Station – the stop servicing the new terminal – will open for trial operations on the same day at 6am.
Presently, the terminal station on the northern end of Metro Line 3 is Airport South Station.
The new station will have two exit-entry points, with Exit A providing access to the aiport's ground transportation center while Exit B services the terminal itself. On top of this, the new station will boast a selection of amenities aimed at making commuters more comfortable, including: public toilets, nursery rooms for mothers and children and an ‘electronic guidance system,’ whatever the hell that is.
Once operational, trains will depart from Airport North Station to Tiyu Xilu every morning from 6am. The last train will leave the station every evening at 11.15pm, according to the Yangcheng Evening News.

Terminal 2 is expected to handle 45 million passengers a year by 2020, nearly doubling the aiport's current capacity. It will boast 397 check-in counters and over 5,000 parking spaces in its shiny new car park.
The ambitious engineering project came with a RMB17 billion price tag.
Terminal 2 will largely serve as the new home for China Southern Airlines, as well as housing operations for other SkyTeam members like China Eastern, Xiamen Airlines, Air France and Air Korea.
