It’s nigh on Easter time. Where in Guangzhou can you celebrate, or just have a pleasant time? We’ve hunted and gathered events — including family-friendly ones — around town for you to peruse.

If you’re looking for the right place to observe an Easter church service this weekend, we've got you covered as well.

Bravo

Celebrate Easter at Bravo in Zhujiang New Town this Sunday with a buy-one-get-one-free deal on all house brews.

Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre

Better known for their out-of-this-world rooftop parties, the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre is hosting an Easter buffet special at Fresh Asian Buffet Restaurant, on the hotel’s fifth floor, from March 31 till April 2. 

Mar 31-Apr 2, noon-2.30pm; RMB188 per adult, RMB108 per child, RMB388 for two adults and one child. Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre.

Gail’s 

Spend a lovely Easter weekend at Gail’s where a special three-course set meal – Easter egg salad, lamb chops with grilled vegetables and carrot cake – awaits. The restaurant's regular weekend brunches will offer free refills of tea and coffee this Saturday and Sunday. Plus, kids under 10 get free hash browns if they paint an egg.

Ganèa Kitchen Fairy Tales

Patrons at Ganèa Kitchen Fairy Tales, a new eatery in Pazhou New Village, will be treated to painted hard-boiled eggs when dining at the restaurant from April 1 till 9.

Ginstar ZJNT

While technically not an Easter event (the poster does feature Easter eggs…), Ginstar in Zhujiang New Town is hosting a ‘Spring Break Party’ on Wednesday, March 28. Running from 6.30-8.30pm, guests can expect complementary snacks and drinks, as well as games and a lucky draw.

The Happy Monk Kingold

This month’s ‘Happy Thursdays’ event, which is being hosted at The Happy Monk’s Kingold branch, is themed ‘Spring Egg Hunt.’ Running from 6.30-8.30pm, guests can expect complementary snacks and drinks, in addition to games and a lucky draw.

LN Hotel Five

Indulge in a sumptuous Easter buffet featuring barbecue dishes, a wide selection of finger foods and delicious desserts with free flow sparkling wine and soft drinks.

Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou

Ebony’s Easter brunch semi-buffet will treat you to king crab legs, green-lipped mussels, poached prawns, sashimi, grilled chicken legs, grilled lamb chops, roasted lamb, Easter surprise cupcakes, pumpkin pies, fresh fruits and pavlova. Hungry diners can wash it all down with free flow beer, juice, soft drinks and more.

Morgan’s Public House

Enjoy an Easter Sunday buffet from noon till 9pm at Morgan’s Public House in Zhujiang New Town. Enjoy turkey and ham, as well as numerous appetizers, sides and dessert, for only RMB198 per person (RMB108 for kids). You’ll also be able to enjoy a complementary soft drink, glass of house wine, Heineken or Tiger with each buffet purchase. This is family-friendly holiday event (the interior of Morgan’s is a smoke-free zone).

Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou 

Bring the whole family to Shangri-La, Guangzhou’s fairy tale-themed Easter Sunday, where an 'Enchanted Forest' and more await. Kiddies can join what's possibly the biggest egg hunt in town. There'll also be a children's guitar performance, live band and magic show, plus a barbecue buffet on the lawn of a gigantic, lush garden that everyone can enjoy. Tristan's Calmex Restaurant and Bar

Enjoy one of Tristan’s hearty, homemade breakfast burritos for only RMB50 on Easter Sunday. For those more interested in boozing, patrons can tipple on two (select) beers for RMB50 and two shots of Jameson for RMB50.
