Yesterday, residents of Shaoguan, Guangdong, woke up to see the province's first snow of the year.
It wasn't much, but at the nearby Nanling National Forest Park, entrepreneurial visitors were able to put together this snowman-like creation.
Which later saw a few improvements:
Elsewhere in the park, ice and snow made the trails a little more scenic.
The same (mostly) went for the city of Shaoguan.
Weibo user @jun女王 commented that, according to her neighbors, Shaoguan hasn't seen a snow like this since 2008.
Elsewhere in Guangdong, Qingyuan and Lianzhou also saw freezing temperatures and light snowfall.

Although the temperature in Shenzhen and Guangzhou hasn't dipped low enough for snow yet, weather bureaus in both cities have released orange cold weather alerts – the first time Shenzhen's meteorological bureau has done so since 2016.
Low temperatures have also made driving dangerous on some highways in Guangdong; all the more reason to bundle up and stay inside over the next day or two.
