Close out the year on a high note with these three great live music events happening in Guangzhou on the last weekend of 2017:
Dec 29: Finger Family @ 191 Space
Pop-punkers Finger Family have followed up on last year’s debut album Burn Out, with a pair of raucous singles. Don’t let their cutesy image fool you; with loud and incessant drum lines plus spine-tingling guitar licks, Finger Family fall more on the side of Sum 41 than Avril Lavigne.
Dec 29, 6pm; RMB80 pre-sale, RMB100 at the door. 191 Space. Tickets.
Dec 31: Change & TrapU @ Mao Livehouse
Hop on board the hip hop train this New Year’s Eve with a night full of up-and-coming Chinese acts including ODDope and Keexi. Catch the full range of urban effects with acts ranging in scope from jazz-rap sensibilities to ‘battle-rap’ and back again.
Dec 31, 7.30pm-midnight; RMB200 pre-sale, RMB300 at the door, RMB380 VIP tickets. Mao Livehouse. Tickets.
January 1: TrapU presents STÖÖKI SOUND @ Hangover
If Sunday night’s TRAPU party isn’t enough to satiate your hip hop needs, this New Year’s Day event in Guangzhou has you covered. Shake off that hangover and come party with STÖÖKI SOUND. London duo Jelacee and Lukey have made a name for themselves by remixing hit songs by the likes of The Weeknd, Stormzy and Hucci.
Jan 1, 10pm; RMB120 pre-sale, RMB180 at the door. Hangover. Tickets.
