It’s the ‘most wonderful time of the year,’ a Christmas sentiment that extends to eating out in Guangzhou this holiday season. With the super-secretive food reviewers from the esteemed Michelin Guide currently scoping out our city’s F&B scene for their inaugural Guangzhou Michelin Guide, we expect most eateries to be at the top of their game this month.

Michelin-quality service and ambiance aside, there are also some great deals to be had on lip-smacking X-mas buffets and set meals. To help you figure out where to get your fill this holiday, we have rounded up a selection of Canton’s best dining promotions.

Bravo

Enjoy free flow booze and tapas for RMB250 per person on December 23 at Bravo Brewing. Festivities kick off at 8pm and there will be an ugly sweater contest to keep you entertained and feeling, well, Christmas-y.

The Brew (Zhujiang)

The Brew Bar & Bistro in Zhujiang New Town is offering hungry holiday revelers a Christmas buffet dinner for RMB198 per person. The buffet, which will take place from 7-9pm, includes a glass of house wine or Tiger beer.

Buongiorno

Conrad Guangzhou

Conrad Guangzhou is presenting a romantic purple and silver-themed holiday event this Christmas. Sense restaurant will be offering fresh, succulent seafood at its brunch and dinner buffets, while Mediterranean restaurant Aroma will indulge diners with an eight-course menu. Mg bar and Gem lounge will both offer guests a selection of special holiday drinks and afternoon tea.

The Dining Room at Park Hyatt Guangzhou boasts a residential-style interior and an open kitchen that speaks volumes about its commitment to artful simplicity and organic preparation. On December 24, the restaurant will offer a delicious brunch for RMB498. On Christmas day, patrons can enjoy a semi-buffet lunch for RMB248 and buffet dinner for RMB498.

Gail’s 

Visit Gail’s brand new home on Xingsheng Lu this Christmas to enjoy an American-style holiday meal! On December 24, enjoy roast turkey and a buffet of homemade pie, festive crackers and a special holiday salad, as well as a free flow of beer, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee. A set menu is available on Christmas Day from 6.30-10pm.

Ginstar

Ginstar’s new Zhujiang New Town location is offering three set meals this Christmas: rosemary roasted chicken (RMB138), Australian grain-fed sirloin (RMB148) or American Angus tender steak (RMB188), all served with mushroom soup, mashed potatoes and chocolate cake. Each meal comes with a complimentary pint of beer, glass of house wine or cocktail.

The team at Hooley’s are offering hungry holiday revelers two all-you-can-eat Christmas dinner buffet sittings: one from 3-5pm, and another from 7-9pm. Culinary highlights include roasted sweet potato soup, cider-brined roast turkey, Christmas stuffing and creamy garlic mashed potatoes, among other edible delights.
