Dec 5: Idea Exchange

Are you getting enough sleep? Do you oversleep? If you have trouble putting yourself to sleep, or dragging yourself out of your bed, this session featuring Sister Sapna, a senior teacher with Raja Yoga Meditation, is perfect for you. Sapna will talk about sleep duration, habits and disorders, before conducting a short meditation session.

Dec 6: Project ACE 

Chinese jazz band Project ACE was started by bass player and music producer Li Jiji and is comprised of five other talented, independent musicians. The group is focused on creating their own unique music and often infuse jazz with funk, soul, hip hop, R&B and gospel music.

Dec 7-10: Teatro Delusio by Familie Floz

German theater company Familie Floz uses physical comedy, masks and improvisation to entertain audiences. Their productions are annual hits at both the Edinburg Festival Fringe and London International Mime Festival. Evocative and hilarious, Teatro Delusio is a masked production that is at the very pinnacle of the genre. It is, in the words of the Guardian, “Wordless and yet somehow so expressive, full of yearning and yet also filled with joy…”

Dec 8: Italian Aperitif Evening at Buongiorno

Unwind this Friday evening at Buongiorno, where delicious Italian edibles and wines, live music and good company awaits. For RMB100, you can enjoy a free drink and as many appetizers as you can eat before 10pm. Each beverage purchased after your first will cost only RMB40. This week features 'pasta e fagioli,' a rustic Italian dish.

Dec 8-9: Romeo and Juliet by TNT Theater

Arguably the most well-known of the Bard’s works, the story of Romeo and Juliet has been sung and performed countless times. This version of the classic tragedy is being presented by TNT Theater and adheres to the Shakespearean spirt and dramatic tradition of applying live music to the show, a notable feature of Elizabethan era performances.

Dec 9: Free Beer for Teachers at Bravo

Bravo is offering a free pint of house brewed beer to Guangzhou’s hard-working teachers every Saturday. With any purchase made on premises, teachers will get a free beer if they show their work ID.

Dec 10: Eva Simon at Hepburn Bar 

Eva Simons’ single ‘Silly Boy,’ which was supposed to be a Rihanna demo featuring Lady Gaga, became a YouTube sensation when leaked onto the video site, getting over 5 million clicks. The Dutch singer will stage a performance at Hepburn Bar this month. Pop in for the party!

Dec 10: Chinese Food Therapy

Dec 10: WBO Guangzhou Stop
