November 13: That’s Guangzhou 2017 Food & Drink Awards Party
Our biggest party of the year is upon us: the 2017 That's Guangzhou Food and Drink Awards takes place at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou on November 13! With awards spanning the Guangzhou F&B world, all the city's movers and shakers will be there. The event includes free-flow beer from Vedett, Liefmans and Firestone Walker, wines from Summergate, water from Fiji and a delightful selection of food provided by the good folks at The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou.

November 13: Jonas Kaufmann
German operatic tenor Jonas Kaufmann is hot stuff in the realm of opera, harvesting success in both Germany and abroad, such as at the Metropolitan Opera in NYC. The New York Times once eulogized him as “a box-office draw… the most important, versatile tenor of his generation,” because he is also an accomplished Lieder singer. Kaufmann’s performance at the Guangzhou Opera House will include several programs featuring pieces by Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert, among other classical composers.

November 14-17: The 4th Annual Charity Bike Ride

November 15: Galliano Septet
The father of neuvo tango music, Astor Piazzolla is the genre's most important composer, blending traditional tango with elements of jazz and classical music. This concert, featuring a performance of Piazzolla’s ‘Four Seasons,’ is brought by the renowned Galliano Septet, which is helmed by accordionist Richard Galliano and will feature Piazzolla’s grandson on the drums.

November 15: Burger Wednesday at Bravo

November 16: DJ Ricky Stone
Stop by Catwalk on November 16 for an electrifying night featuring British DJ Ricky Stone, a veteran of the UK’s rave scene in the mid-90s. Named one of the Top 100 DJs by DJ Mag in 2005, Stone, a resident DJ at Hong Kong’s C Club, is the first Hong Kong/China based DJ to crack the elite list.

November 16-17: The Seagull
Four-act comedy The Seagull is considered one of Russian playwright Anton Chekov’s best works. It confronts the romantic conflict between art and mundane daily life. This version, produced by Belarus’ National Academic Janka Kupala Theatre and winner of the country’s National Theatre Award, was deemed the best play of 2014 in Belarus.

November 17-19: Light
Light, created by the UK’s multi-award winning Theatre Ad Infinitum, is a tale of love, betrayal and technological power inspired by Edward Snowden’s revelations. It presents an Orwellian future where a totalitarian regime monitors its citizens’ thoughts through implants. Using a blend of anime-style storytelling matched with a pulsating soundscape, the audience enters a sci-fi world.

November 18: BSG International Day
The British School of Guangzhou’s biggest event of the year will take place on November 18. A fun family event, this festival brings everyone together in celebration of the variety of cultures and nationalities within the school and greater Guangzhou community.

Ongoing: Learn Ceramics
Make your own mug, salad bowl or plate with a little personal touch in this ceramics class. First-timers will be guided by an experienced teacher. The class is two and a half hours long and a two-day advanced reservation is required.
