“Food is everything we are. It’s an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma. It’s inseparable from those from the get-go.”
So said celebrated chef, author, television personality and all-round ‘cool dude’ Anthony Bourdain, and they are words we at That’s PRD take greatly to heart, having sampled a myriad of cuisines and beverages on our adventures through Guangzhou’s diverse F&B scene.
Every year, we celebrate gastronomy with the That’s PRD Food & Drink Awards, highlighting the region’s outstanding restaurants, bars and cafes. To decide which pizzeria has the crispiest thin crust, which bar’s cocktails are sinfully quaffable and which French restaurant raises our enthusiasm to Amy Poehler levels, we rely on you, our readers: the honorable citizens of Shenzhen and Guangzhou.
This year’s voting will start on October 16 on our website, and we’ll also be publishing voting reminders, category information and restaurant details on our official WeChat. Voting will end November 5.
Winners will be announced at our exclusive awards ceremony in November.
Just like every year, readers have three weeks to vote for their favorite restaurants, bars, cafes and more.

Vote now by following us on WeChat, which you can do by scanning the QR code below:
Once you've added our account, tap the "Vote!" button at the bottom of the screen to start selecting your favorites.
You can also message ‘Schedule’ to our WeChat account (ThatsGuangzhou) for a full list of dates when each category will be presented.

Open votes for Outstanding Bar of the Year, Outstanding Club of the Year, Outstanding Restaurant of the Year will be accepted on WeChat during the entire three-week voting period.
Simply message "Outstanding Bar of the Year/ Outstanding Club of the Year/ Outstanding Restaurant of the Year: [Your Choice]" to our account and we'll count it.
The deadline to submit open votes is November 5 at 11.59pm. Any submissions sent after then will not be counted. Only one open vote per user will be accepted per category.
