Canadian Rockers Release MV Filmed on Guangzhou Rooftop

Back in June, That’s had the chance to chat with Toronto-based pop-rockers Little Junior – a group, we found out, that are unrepentant Carly Rae Jepsen fans and a tad unfond of former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Band members Lucas Meilach-Boston (guitar), Jackson Beyer (bass), Chai River Elliott-Armstrong (drums) and Rane Elliott-Armstrong (vocals/guitar) were in Guangzhou for a three-stop tour that took them to two notable Guangzhou bars and the top of the town, for a special Canada Day performance on the Crowne Plaza City Center’s rooftop helipad.

During our interview with the band, Lucas mentioned that Little Junior was planning to film a music video while visiting ‘the Zhou,’ and, on October 5 (in Canada), said music video was finally released.

According to a staffer at the Crowne Plaza City Center, shooting the video took all day due to bouts of rain and poor weather

The video for the song ‘Accolades’ was filmed by Twin Tiger Studios and features the lads of Little Junior rocking out 63 stories above Yuexiu District while dressed in white jumpsuits and shoes.

A group of dancers also appear alongside the band in the video and, at times, the four Torontonians join in with some ‘dope moves’ of their own.

“The dance crew was founded with the help of some close friends who are members of smaller university dance crews,” says Ryan Sherratt, one of the founders of Twin Tiger Studios and the director of photography for the music video. “I was introduced to HOK (Hawk), one of the teachers at Speed Studio, he was great!

“The whole production was very rushed as the boys only had one day available for a shoot and were in China a very short time, so we gave HOK the song and he put together a small routine the boys could learn on their own in a day or two. He filmed the routine on his phone and shared it with us on WeChat. So the boys started practicing whenever they had free time.”

“The video for ‘Accolades’ is pure boy band fantasy,” Rane told culturecollide.com. “While the lyrics explore jealous resentment, we know the best revenge is living well. And if flying to Guangzhou, China, to shoot a video on a helipad isn’t living well, then what is?”
