Guangzhou to Clamp Down on Irresponsible Dog Owners

Dog poo on the bottom of your shoe is no joke, it sucks, and the irresponsible dog owners that allow such crappy circumstances to come to pass better take note: Guangzhou’s municipal government is launching a crackdown aimed at YOU!

According to a report published yesterday by GRT Radio, the campaign is intended to enforce existing regulations regarding dog ownership in the city.

The announcement is the result of increasing complaints related to negligent pet owners. Common grievances include loud, barking dogs, off-leash animals and owners who don’t pick up their dog’s feces (ewww).

Rules for dog owners in Guangzhou were laid out back in 2009, and, since then, authorities have dealt with 238 dog-related incidents, 70 percent of which involved owners failing to meet their basic responsibilities, according to GRT Radio.

Admittedly, we’re a little curious if the city’s dog regulations apply to this arctic fox being kept as a pet in Guangzhou (no joke).
