The fifth installment of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Amateur Series – the world’s largest corporate amateur tournament – touched down in Guangzhou last month on May 10. It marked the third time the city has played host to the renowned TAWGC, which saw finalists trimmed from a field of over 8,000 players last year compete in a series of qualifying events.
Finalists will fly business class on Turkish Airlines from their qualifying destination to Antalya, Turkey, where they will spend an incredible week at the five-star Titanic Belek hotel to compete in two rounds of finals at the neighboring Titanic Golf Club, one of the finest courses in Turkey.
Previous TAWGC champions have moved on to play in the Pro-Am of the Turkish Airlines Open, which is part of the European Tour’s ‘Final Series.’ The Financial Times, National Rent a Car, Allianz and Conte of Florence are helping to sponsor this highly anticipated sporting event.

The TAWGC is a significant part of Turkish Airlines’ strong backing for golf that includes an event on the Challenge Tour – the European Tour’s second tier – and longstanding support for women’s golf, as well as the prestigious Turkish Airlines Open.
“We are delighted to host a Qualifying Series event for the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup,” said GM Mucahit Mehmet Kiraz from the Guangzhou Turkish Airlines local office. “The events are now a key part of the calendar for the region’s business community. We’re looking forward to another memorable occasion and a worthy winner.”
