Brazilian football star Paulinho
runs the risk of deportation after the Guangzhou Evergrande midfielder was snapped promoting an illegal betting company with Japanese porn star Tsukasa Aoi, according to the Daily Mirror.
Evergrande and the Chinese FA are said to be less than impressed after the deeply religious and married Paulinho agreed to endorse Letou, an Asian betting company targeting China, where gambling is illegal. FIFA also prohibits all professional players from having any involvement in the betting industry.
Pornography is also illegal in China, so the 28-year-old's decision to be snapped with one of Asia's biggest adult movie stars only adds to the embarrassment (and presumably leaves him with some explaining to do to his wife - the video footage of Paulinho with Aoi is said to have been filmed at his home in Guangzhou).
It could prove to be a convenient out for the ex-Tottenham Hotspur player, however, with reports German giants Bayern Munich are interested in taking him back to Europe.
