Whether you believe that food can put you in the mood, or that the hubbub about food and prowess in bed is all in your head, aphrodisiacs, those oh-so-edible erotica treats, have been famed for their purported power in stimulating sexual desire in humans for centuries. One of the most consistently noted aphrodisiacs are oysters.
Packed with healthy vitamins, minerals and macronutrients such as vitamin C, iron, zinc, calcium and protein, among others, the nutritional benefits of the oyster are well-established. Scientists are contentious on whether this nutritional composition is transferable from the oyster's home in the seabed to your bed. However, the food is unique in both presentation and taste and makes a memorable treat for both you and your date, perfect to indulge in on Valentine’s Day.
