Ready (or not) to watch the presidential inauguration? A few spots in the city are showing it if you're looking to congratulate (or commiserate) with fellow expats.
The inauguration will kick off on Friday morning at 9am in Washington DC with Trump being sworn in at noon, meaning the show will start in Guangzhou at 10pm – the perfect time for grabbing a beer and forgetting this whole thing even happened.
The Brew Zhujiang
The Brew’s screens will be showing Donald's many iconic faces and, we guess, the main event – the inauguration speech of America's new president. No cover fee necessary and guests can enjoy RMB150 Trump Towers filled with Tiger beer.
See listing for The Brew Zhujiang.
Canton Lounge
Catch all of Trumps (possibly offensive) hand gestures at Canton Lounge in the DoubleTree by Hilton Guangzhou. No cover necessary, just buy drinks.
See listing for Canton Lounge.
Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre
The lobby bar at Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre will be proudly flying the Mexican flag for Trump’s inauguration (kidding, kind of…).
See listing for Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre.
McCawley’s Irish Pub
Will Trump's inauguration speech be as successful as his acceptance speech? We'll find out at McCawley’s this Friday evening. No cover necessary.
Tristan’s CalMex and Bar
Curious how many people Trump can belittle over the course of his speech? We sure are. Find out at Tristan’s CalMex and Bar. Be forewarned: kitchen closes at 11pm but the booze will flow all night to help you celebrate (or drown your sorrows).
See listing for Tristan’s CalMex and Bar.
