The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou marked the beginning of its 2016 festive celebrations on November 25, with the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and a charity event called ‘Gingerbread House Built With Love’ to kick off to this Yuletide.
Twenty-eight local media personnel from newspapers, magazines, broadcast media and social media took part in the event. General Manager Matthias Vogt also led hotel’s Guidance Team Members to kick start the meaningful charity gingerbread house project. Each one adopted a brick to lay the foundation of gingerbread house.
From now until December 25, guests and locals who are keen to be part of this good cause can purchase the gingerbread bricks at RMB200 or RMB500 each and decorate with special Christmas wishes before each brick is used to complete this unique, life-sized gingerbread house located at the hotel lobby.
Proceeds will be donated to the hotel’s long-term partner, the Qingyuan Jianhui Primary School with the purpose to provide education assistance and help for children from poverty-stricken areas to fulfill their aspirations. Every year, teachers from the school forward the children’s New Year wishes to the hotel, and the team at The Ritz-Carlton will adopt one child to grant their wishes. This has always been a hit event and children from the Qingyuan Jianhui Primary School are always very grateful with the gifts they received.
Mr. Matthias Vogt, the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou, said he is very glad to support these charitable efforts.
“Community Foot Print is a big part of our company culture. We believe strongly in giving back to the local community we take from. One of the best ways to build relationship with our guests is by involving them in the work that is important to our business” said Vogt. “We want our guests and friends to join us to spread happiness and love in a tangible, meaningful and memorable way. We like to see children from Qingyuan Jianhui Primary School to start the New Year with hope.”
Carols from Children Choir from the American International School of Guangzhou enhanced the festive spirit and atmosphere, giving guests participating in the lighting ceremony the most pleasurable evening apart from the festive delicacies specially prepared by the creative culinary team.
