The Tianhe fire department issued an exercise notice this morning after online panic again flared up over fire drills at Guangzhou’s soon-to-be-open CTF (Chow Tai Fook) Finance Centre.

The drills have been running for the past couple of weeks and feature smoke, vehicle-mounted water cannons and even “fire robots.” As you can tell from the images, the drills have been extremely realistic and you’d be forgiven for thinking a real fire was underway.

Today will be the last day the drill is run, according to the Tianhe Fire Department, coinciding with the launch of Guangdong’s ‘119 Fire Safety Awareness Month.’
