In an effort to make the daily commute more visually pleasant, art installations will grace the station halls of Guangzhou’s soon-to-be-open Metro Line 7.
According to a Tencent News story published Monday, three stations on the new line will host ‘culture walls’ profiling elements of Lingnan culture (the culture of Guangdong and nearby provinces in southeastern China). These stations are: Shibi, Nancun Wanbo and Higher Education Mega Center South.
Part of Line 7, which runs from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Higher Education Mega Center South, will begin operations in December of this year. A second phase of construction, pegged to be finished in 2020, will see the line reach further west, to Meidi Dadao in Foshan.
