World Italian Language Week - it’s about more than Italian poetry and stuffing your face with pasta, or so we’ve been told.
Consolato Generale d’Italia Canton (or the Italian Consulate-General of Guangzhou for those who can’t figure it out) recently held a press conference to announce the numerous events that will grace Guangzhou from October 19-24, as well as several on-going Italian cultural exhibts.

World Italian Language Week:
Initiated by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001, this year’s event will feature a musical theme that will bring jazz musicians and renowned Italian songwriter Ivan Fossati to town.
Considered the father of Italian songwriting music, Fossati comes to Guangzhou for the very first time to present his latest released novel - 335. The novel presentation will happen October 24 at 3.30pm at EMG Gallery at Redtory.
There will also be a theatrical performance of 'Happy Goldoni', a piece that pays tribute to revolutionary, writer and lawyer Carlo Goldoni. This performance will also occur on October 24 at EMG Gallery, running from 5-6pm.

GT Italian Film Festival:
As currently scheduled, eight films will be featured at the Feiyang Cinema from the end of October until the end of the year, offering audiences a glimpse into the excellent contemporary movies of Italy.
Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival:
Based on productive cooperation at last year’s edition of the festival, Italy will be the guest of honor at this year’s festivities (running December 7-10). According to a media release, the Italian Documentary Association will be attending the festival with a large delegation.
