Guangzhou-based alternative rock group Riven have released their debut live album ‘Post-nationalism.’
The album is being billed as a unique blend of styles, sounds and rhythms and - from what we've heard - it kicks ass.
Famous locally for their cunning live performances, Riven sets themselves apart from other musical acts in the Pearl River Delta for their commitment to originality and their passion for music. In a region full of cover bands, they truly are exceptional.
When previously asked to describe their style to That’s, front man Christian von Heland called their style “a mix between Coldplay and U2… we really explore different sounds, from Radiohead to Incubus.”
Formed in Guangzhou in 2013, Riven consists of Christian von Heland (lead vocal, rhythm guitar), Jakk Sludge (lead guitar, backing vocals), Rene Laforge (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Gunnar Thor- steinsson (drums, backing vocals).
