September 1-13: Photography for the Pure Belle Bhutan
At the foot of the Himalayas lies this mysterious country, filled with astounding natural beauty and scenic landscapes. In Bhutan, wild animals and natural plants are at your fingertips, attached to everyday life. The law of the jungle is witnessed in the mountains, as the blossom fades in the woods. For generations, the Bhutanese have been practicing Buddhism and co-existing with nature. Akinori Ito, a Japanese fashion photographer, journeyed into the wonders of Bhutan to capture perfect moments in the so-called ‘Land of the Thunder Dragon.’ The results are now on display at Goelia 225.

September 1-16: Beyond Words
Displaying contemporary Chinese ink-wash art, Beyond Words displays a passion for tradition combined with a modern sensibility. This exhibition is a showcase for the young and talented artist Mo Lijia, who graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in 2009, before attaining his master’s from the Department of Chinese Painting at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2014.

September 2: Throwback 90s Party at Revolucion
It smells like teen spirit at Revolucion Cocktail.
Come out and throw it back to the 90s with eclectic music from everyone's favourite decade. Attendees are encouraged to dress in grunge/pop/boy band inspired outfits, so remember to dress in your favorite 90s style.

September 3: MEME live at Duo
Get your hip-hop on at Duo on September 3 with rap and hip-hop artist MEME. You probably won't find him on Google and apparently no one knows who this guy is, but we're sure it's bound to be an entertaining evening.

September 3: Merchants & Co. trivia at Hooley's
Register your team of four to five people before 8pm to enjoy some mind-bending trivia. Possible rounds include current events, history, general knowledge, geography and pop culture, among others. This week's trivia will also include a connection and photo round.
Prizes for the top three teams and live music afterwards with The Vibe starting at 10pm.

September 4-8: Oktoberfest in Shunde
Oktoberfest, the world’s renowned celebratory fair from Germany that wows visitors with beer, Bavarian delicacies and raucous fun, is going to make its debut at the Shunde Marriott Hotel from September 4 to 8. Mimicking the format of the original Munich event, the hotel will erect a tent in its outdoor square to host the first-ever Oktoberfest in Shunde and expects to attract some 700 revelers each day. Party-goers will be able to enjoy a bottomless supply of Münchner Weisse and Hofbräu München, the pride of German beer culture that boasts a heritage of over 400 years.
