One of the brightest Mandopop stars, Wang Leehom has been active on the music scene in China since the summer of 1995, when he appeared on a talent show in Taiwan. The New York-born musician and Berklee College of Music graduate rose to prominence through the release of his second album The One and Only, the namesake single of which made Wang’s name known to every Chinese person who has ever patronized a karaoke bar. His rendition of ‘Descendants of the Dragon,’ a well-known Chinese song from the ’80s, added to his popularity on the Chinese mainland.
