Taking as its subject the 17 socialist countries that dotted the globe during the Cold War, as well as the ‘red’ traces left behind in the wake of the Soviet Union’s collapse, this sweeping photography exhibition seeks to capture the ‘socialist form’ that has become a part of history. Travelling through Albania, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Poland and beyond, Chinese photographer Liu Yuan tries to restore the historic image of these former socialist state through his inquiring lens.
