Don't miss this month's Box Project-fueled Salon, featuring musician Cora Rose. See below for info on 'The Box Project.'
A songwriter and producer currently living in Guangzhou, Cora grew up in the northern USA where she began songwriting at age 7, performing solo concerts at 14, and producing records at 16. While music is a passion, she has many other interests as well and her life path reflects this. Her degree was in economic development, she teaches music and English, and she has worked in criminal justice. Above all things, she loves to travel and collaborate with musicians and artists from around the world. In early 2018, she will begin a year of travel from the USA to the tip of South America, capturing recordings of musicians throughout the Americas.
The Box Project aims to offer participants the opportunity to give life to their dreams or a safe space to relinquish their secrets. We often ‘box up’ our inner thoughts, drawing lines between what is good, possible or acceptable to share, and store those ideas away for the future. But the future is now! And we all have a lot more in common than we’d like to think. Community and interconnectivity can only grow when we think outside the box. That’s why we’re inviting everyone and anyone to submit their dreams, aspirations and/or secrets as part of a worldwide public art initiative known as The Box Project.
Submissions can be sent online at wethesalon.com or at pop-up locations around Guangzhou. These locations will be shared weekly via The Salon on WeChat. Add AriLombardi or MisterRowley to be part of The Salon group.
