Human perception is limited and feeble, our naked eye can only perceive light within the 380-780 nanometer wavelength range, hence the distinction between visible and invisible light. Ultraviolet light, with wavelengths between 200-400 nanometers, can induce physical changes, causing certain materials to emit fluorescence. Yang Qian utilizes fluorescent materials that are colorless under natural and daylight lamps as a medium, combined with a 365-nanometer ultraviolet light, to create a psychological space within the physical relationship between the visible and invisible. Forming a visual charm that transcends the ordinary: the ultraviolet light activates the luminescent particles within the fluorescent material, making the material itself seem like a light source in the dark, with colors that are crystal clear and transcendent above the gloom. When the fluorescent material is alternately illuminated by lamps, the fluorescence shifts between fading into obscurity and dazzling brilliance, stimulating the viewer's conventional cognition from a sensory perspective, and even evoking transcendental spiritual insights.
