Police in Hunan provincial capital Changsha have reacted this morning after two of their officers were filmed brutally beating apparently innocent civilians yesterday afternoon.

According to eyewitnesses, the two officers (who, as it happens, were driving drunk) drove into Jinjiang Village in Yuelu District yesterday when a pickup truck did not give way for the police car. The officers then leapt out of their squad car, dragged the two men in the other vehicle out and viciously beat them for over five minutes.

The two men who suffered the brunt of the officers' fury offered virtually no defense and did not fight back. Nonetheless, officers continued to punch and kick them on the ground.

After a man stopped to try to calm down the cops, both remove their uniform tops as the spectacle of drunk officers of the law thrashing innocents began to attract more and more unwanted attention from locals.

Early this morning, Yuelu District Public Security announced on their Weibo microblog account that the two officers in the video had been placed under administrative detention and were currently being investigated.
