10 arrested for worst crime you can commit in China (yes, it's killing a panda)

If the worst thing you can do in America is kill a bald eagle while getting taxed without representation, then what's the worst crime in China?

If you guessed 'killing a panda,' then you nailed it. 10 people have been arrested in Yunnan Province after they killed a panda and were attempting to sell its meat, gallbladder, fur and bones.

The photo below (don't say you weren't warned) is of the panda's pelt, which was presumably slated to be sold for use as a textile. Bones and gallbladders are oftentimes found as ingredients in Traditional Chinese Medicine, although it is very rare that they are taken from pandas.

And the meat? It looks like that was the reason the panda was killed in the first place - according to People's Daily, police found 9.75 kilograms of meat with the men, and some may have already been sold to local buyers.

Pandas are a "first-class protected animal," meaning - in case you didn't already know - that it's illegal to kill them. It is also extremely rare to find these animals in the wild, so these men were faced with an extremely enviable sight when they first found the bear - and then a much less enviable one when they, you know, killed it for its bones and meat.
