A set of Chinese celebrities were arrested in Shanghai earlier this month after they beat the crap out of a taxi driver, fracturing the man's eye socket and hurting his nose and shoulder.

Gao Feng, former international footballer of Beijing Guoan fame, reportedly tested positive for crystal methamphetamine following the attack. Also involved were actor Nie Yuan and screenwriter He Mu, along with former CCTV anchor Qiu Qiming.

In other words, it was a mess. Gao, Nie and He have all been arrested, and Qiu is currently released on bail. The fight took place in the lobby of a Jinjiang hotel in the Huangpu New District.

There is no word yet as to what started the altercation, other than that Qiu and the driver had some sort of disagreement, and Gao - with that extra confidence only meth can provide - intervened, and things escalated from there.
