Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung's 23-year-old daughter Chai Yan has earned herself a reputation as somewhat of a trouble child. In spring 2014, she made her breakthrough online by undermining concerns about press freedom after former Ming Pao editor Kevin Lau was hacked by knife-wielding attackers on a Hong Kong street in broad daylight.

Since then, she's kept up a steady stream of weirdness via her Facebook fan page, which has raked in almost 40,000 followers. Even compared to previous instances when she posted self-harm photos and sent raunchy Instagrams to a modeling agency, her online outbursts in the early hours of this morning have undoubtedly been the most shocking.

At around 6:00am, Chai Yan, who is currently taking a year out from her LSE law degree to pursue a nascent career in Hong Kong show business, posted this startling allegation of domestic violence against her own mother, who accused her of "sleeping around" and told her to "go on prostituting yourself":

And then, in the most popular of her subsequent posts:

Many critics of CY Leung, who currently enjoys historically low approval ratings, took delight in the statement, replying, "U share the hopes of many HK-ers," "that's what everybody's been saying all along" and "Chai Yan, you are simply a hero of the people."

She wasn't done there though. Another five posts followed declaring her intention to run away from home at Government House, which was the scene of protests and scuffles yesterday as pro-democracy demonstrators attempted to crash the annual open house at the former residence of the colony's British governors.

CY Leung has declined to comment on his daughter's statements this morning.
