A Zhejiang folk artist made headlines last week for painting with his tongue.

This lotus flower piece took him an hour to complete.

For some reason, a German TV station sent a cameraman all the way there to film this stunt.

The artist, Han Xiaoming, has been doing a nationwide performance tour showcasing his tongue-painting technique. Here are more pictures of him performing in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province earlier this month.

“It is a great way to really feel a connection with the artwork you are creating, using the tongue so you can feel the paper directly rather than filtered through the brush," Han said. "You can also taste it as well.”

However, the artist has conceded that he will eventually have to retire from his tongue painting career due to health concerns.

Hopefully this trailblazer with such good taste in art doesn’t develop an interest for oil painting.
