A 14-year-old girl and her 25-year-old boyfriend were arrested for the murder of an unlicensed taxi driver in Kunming, Yunan Province on October 14, and yesterday the pair were taken by police to confirm the scene of the crime.
On the night of October 12, the two went to a local hotspot for unlicensed 'black cabs' and picked their prey: a 60-year-old man picking up passengers for the first time.
The passengers got into an argument with their driver over fares at in intersection in Xishan District. The 25-year-old male suspect, surnamed Duan, then drew his knife and stabbed their driver in the throat. 14-year-old Wang joined in immediately, and the two stabbed the driver over 50 times, continuing long after he had already died.
Duan and Wang then took the body to an empty field, removed his belonging, and dragged the corpse to the nearby riverside. They then drove away in the card, disposed of the deceased's identity card,
On the morning of October 14, a cleaner discovered the body on the river bank and informed the Haikou police station, where investigators solved the case with "lightning speed" over just two days.
