Florentijn Hofman, the Dutch artist who gifted the world with his seemingly omnipresent giant Yellow rubber duck, has unveiled his latest creation in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
How could he possibly follow up on his giant duck, giant cat, giant crow, giant dog, giant frog, giant penguin, giant bear and giant hippo? No hints.
It's a giant rabbit! Bet you didn't see that one coming.
Installed as part of the Taoyuan Land Art Festival that begins next week, the rabbit's arrival is also well-timed to coincide with Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations.
According to Chinese folklore, the Jade Rabbit lives on the moon as the companion of the lunar goddess Chang'e. Reclining on a formerly camouflaged but now incredibly conspicuous aircraft bunker, the rabbit appears to be engrossed in the traditional mid-autumn pastime of admiring the full moon of the fall equinox.
