Yesterday, a video started going viral around Taiwan that purported to show a foreigner blowing up at a Taoyuan bus driver after he pressed the bell too late and missed his own stop. Since then, it's been the decidedly hot topic on the Taiwanese web, and we've been covering it with dedication:
WATCH: Scumbag laowai attacks Taiwan bus driver after he misses his own stop
Update: Foreigner who went crazy at Taiwan bus driver strikes back, makes himself look even worse
But it doesn't end there. The latest revaluation in this saga that has enraptured the nation is that Taiwan's favorite rude-as-hell ABC (American-born Chinese) didn't randomly explode at that bus driver at all: he's just consistently horrible to everyone! A new video has just been released online showing Jason shouting down the secretary-general of his local neighborhood:
Annoyed by cars parking around where he lives, Jason went into the office to complain after already making several pointless calls to the police. The local official explains that these cars are allowed to park temporarily for the convenience of residents and they can't just tow them away.
Jason is not satisfied with this. Not one bit. He then switches to English and whips out what locals have described as his "catchphrase": "f*** you!" It must be his catchphrase since he used it 17 times in his exchange on the Taoyuan bus. Somehow unsatiated, Jason then turns to his other favorite rhetorical device: he demands that the man "say sorry!" to him. Sorry for what, we don't know. At the time, neither of them probably did either.
Local media have confirmed that Jason is of Taiwanese descent but American nationality. He speaks fluent Chinese but his favorite hobby is pretending not to and screaming verbal abuse in English whenever his "very high standards" are not met by those serving him.
