PHOTOS: Taiwanese man calls in fire services to extinguish ghosts

2014 is turning out to be a stellar year for Taiwanese people overreacting (and emergency services showing superhuman patience).

In May, Taipei residents called the police over a house kitty that they mistook for a leopard cat — a ridiculously cute but potentially dangerous wild cat native to the island:

Then in June, a female college student in Kaohsiung brought in the strong arm of the law to deal with a cockroach in her flat:

Well, now they're both been left in the dust. At midnight last night a man rang up the fire brigade to deal with... ghosts. No kidding, ghosts:

The report reads:

Caller talking incoherently, saying he didn't know what to say... suddenly said there were ghosts in the room... suddenly said he was scared half to death...

According to the report, the firemen said that they "refuse to become Ghostbusters." And fair enough; who'd put out the fires if there were running around all day collecting ectoplasm? That's a job for Taiwan's bona fide Ghostbusters:

Bonus Easter egg — if you look closely at the picture of the monitor, you'll see that the police also received a distress call that night from someone trapped in a gas station toilet with no toilet paper:
