Macau bear-eaved by death of prized panda Xin Xin

Xin Xin, a female giant panda given as a gift from Beijing to the Asian gambling hub of Macau in 2010, died from kidney failure on Sunday.

Xin Xin past her routine medical examination in May but had become uncooperative during training. After being given treatment, she appeared to be on the mend until two weeks ago when her kidney function began to deteriorate rapidly. According to Macau panda park, Xin Xin, who was almost 5-years-old, was declared dead at 8:18pm on Sunday.
