This year a panda will serve as the animal oracle for the 2014 Brazil World Cup.
On Tuesday, The China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda said the successor to “Paul the Octopus” – who successfully predicted the outcome of eight games by picking teams at random – will be a panda cub less than two years old.
The specific prediction method is still being discussed but ideas such as marking food or trees with national flags and whichever the cub selects will be the predicted winner of the match.
