On February 7, a woman in Shantou, Guangdong province gave birth to a baby boy weighing 7.12 kg (15.6 lb).

If accurate, this weight would make the unnamed infant China's largest ever, overtaking current record holder Chun Chun at 7.04 kg (15.5 lb), born in 2012 in Xinxiang, Henan province.

According to Guinness World Records, the heaviest newborn in the world was born in 1955 with a uterus quivering weight of 10.2 kg (22.4 lb).
