On Sunday morning, June 2, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Emergency Management reported that six people had died during a landslide in the prefecture-level city of Yangjiang. The landslide occurred around 2.30am in the town of Chunwan, in the city of Yangchun.

The recent onslaught of heavy rains triggered the landslide, which buried the first floor of a concrete-reinforced, three-story building.
