A man was caught on city surveillance kicking a cat into a river on December 11 in the city of Shantou, on the eastern coast of Guangdong.
The footage shows the man walking along a riverside promenade when he notices the feline beneath the walkway’s stone railing. He approaches the cat, looks over the railing at it and then kicks the animal into the river.
Video from the scene then shows the man scurry off. Not cool, bro.
Watch the savagery unfold below (VPN off):
Fortunately, the cat was able to quickly scramble out of the river and hightail it away from the water’s edge. The cat kicker’s identity is unknown.
Cat lover or not, we hope we can all agree that no animal deserves to be kicked into a river in winter (or any time of year, for that matter).
