On August 20, Shenzhen’s Public Security Bureau announced four services related to foreigners that can now be completed online.
The services that no longer require paper applications are:
Birth registration for a foreign baby born in China
Reporting a lost passport
Household registration for children of Chinese nationality born outside of the Chinese mainland
Cancellation of Shenzhen household registration (if the person legally obtains permanent residence in a foreign country, Hong Kong or Macao)
In order to complete these applications online, visit the ‘civic livelihood police platform’ at szga.gov.cn.
Shenzhen has long been revered as a technological theme park and is known globally for its cornucopia of innovative ideas. The Public Security Bureau is also doing their part in attracting top foreign talent by making more immigration-related services hassle free.
