In the wee hours of this morning, as many around the city continued celebrating 'Chinese Valentine's,' or Qixi Festival, police shut the party down at one Nanshan nightclub in order to conduct a drug raid.
Under police supervision, partygoers at Club bbR took saliva tests to check for crystal meth, ketamine and morphine.
Photos and videos on Weibo show dozens of policemen standing around what appears to be a full house, giving directions via loudspeaker.

It's unclear whether any partygoers tested positive, although another video on Weibo shows police leading two men from an entryway near the club into a van.

An Indonesian native who was present at the scene, Surya, said that the entire raid lasted about two hours. Police asked for his passport and details of what he was doing in Shenzhen. Throughout the experience, Surya said, police stayed respectful toward clubgoers:
"They were asking us politely to not take pictures."
Around 3.30am, all those who tested negative for drugs were allowed to go home.
Many details of the raid remain under wraps, and Nanshan police could not be reached for comment for this article. Likewise, the customer service manager for Club bbR confirmed that the raid happened, but refused to comment on the incident.
