Recently, an odd sight in Chongqing has been making the rounds on the Internet. Photos show a road laid out on the top of a building, complete with cars driving over it.
'Would the sound of brakes on the roof annoy you at night?' some netizens wondered.

Reporters tracked down the building to a gated neighborhood in the city's Nan'an District. Walking on the rooftop road itself, they noticed quite a few cars parked there, and an entrance and exit leading to an indoor parking garage.
According to the staff there, the cars on the road are mostly parked for short periods. Underneath are three levels of parking for the neighborhood's cars, with stores situated at the very bottom.
A resident, surnamed Liu, told the reporters that the sound of cars on the rooftop doesn't affect people in the neighborhood, as no one lives directly underneath. Also, since there are entrances to the parking garage on the ground level, not many cars go on the rooftop path.
Located in a mountainous region, Chongqing often seems to inspire odd or imaginative buildings as architects try to make designs that fit in with the landscape.
For example, Line 2 of the city's metro system passes straight through a building at Liziba station.
In another case of high-altitude construction, two parallel walkways between buildings in the city's Kuixinglou Square were built to rise 60 meters above the ground.
