Shekou Daily is reporting that a 59-year-old French man was stabbed in Shenzhen's Shekou District yesterday around 5.30pm.
Shekou Daily describes the attack:
Witnesses say that the Frenchman, who was walking with his 5-year-old son, stepped in when he saw the two men fighting and no one else was helping. He received knife wounds on his head, back and left arm and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
"The boy had his father's blood on his pants," a social worker from Shekou's soon-to-open Management and Service Center for Expats is quoted as saying, after visiting the family while the injured man was in surgery.
The patient is reported to be in stable condition, with government representatives visiting this morning.
The stabbing reportedly took place on Haichang Jie and Kangle Lu, where the attacker was quickly subdued. Video pulled from a WeChat group shows a man pinned to the ground by two others with blood on the ground nearby.
