The White House's latest actions are so controversial that even Chinese state media are using the opportunity to troll the US.

Following President Donald Trump's stunning dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, which has sent shockwaves around America, People's Daily decided to break the news with a rather sassy post on Twitter (a social media platform that's blocked in China).

Poking fun at The Donald's hit television series The Apprentice, the country's largest state-run newspaper broke the story using the show's signature catchphrase ("You're fired"). The tweet was even accompanied by an animated GIF:
