Parents and families of the children at No. 3 Experimental Primary School of Puyang County in Henan province were left reeling yesterday after news broke of a deadly toilet stampede.
Xinhua reports that students crowded into the toilet during the morning break. Another news agency claims the toilet’s wall collapsed from the pressure. The exact cause of the stampede is still under investigation.
The current death toll is at two. The 20 other injured students were rushed to the hospital, where some remain in critical condition.
Puyang County government has launched a full investigation into the matter.
