Paramount's new action thriller xXx: Return of Xander Cage, starring Vin Diesel and China's very own Donnie Yen and Kris Wu, made huge racks at box offices all across China this past weekend, earning USD21.3 million on its opening day last Friday.
It went on to gross at USD61.9 million in its first three days and topped USD100 million in under a week.
Chinese investors backed the film.
It's one of the biggest Hollywoods movie in China since Warcraft was released last year. Despite bombing in the US, film was an unexpected smash hit in China, bringing in a whomping USD45.8 million on its first day and eventually earning total box office sales of USD220.8 million. One diehard Fuzhou fan even brought his blow-up doll to go see the movie in theaters.
