Did you know that China accounts for almost one quarter of the world's total amount of ground-feeding birds?

Starting from today until May 1, the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum with be displaying roosters for their annual exhibition based on the Chinese zodiac to celebrate this year's Spring Festival.

Visitors of all ages can learn more about the clucking birds through interactive workshops, lectures, themed debates and a story saloon.

Prior to the event, the museum gathered questions from children and adults so that these questions could be answered throughout the expo. Some of these questions were: How do baby chicks hatch out of eggs?, Why is the color of male chickens more pigmented than females?, and Why is China sometimes considered as the 'kingdom of pheasants of the world'?

Shanghai Media Tech has collaborated with the museum to co-produce a 4D science film on five species of pheasants, which also features the golden pheasant, a bird only found in China.

The movie's first showing will be on, Sat Jan 28, the first day of the Chinese New Year.
